 What is vernier caliper


Vernier Caliper, A measuring device that is used for the measurement of linear dimensions. It is also used for the measurement of diameters of round objects with the help of the measuring jaws.

Advantage of vernier caliper –

• Available in many lengths

• No battery required

• Fewer moving parts than dial or digital calipers


Disadvantage of vernier caliper-

• Not as accurate as dial and digital

• Reading a vernier isn’t as easy as reading a dial or digital

Typically only available in either inches OR metric (Not both on the same scale)


WORKING PRINCIPLE OF VERNIER CALIPER:

The vernier caliper is a precision measuring instrument which is used to measure length , depth ,diameter of the given specimen.

The detailed explanation of vernier caliper is as follows:

• Calipers are nothing bur the Jaws which are used to fix the given component.

• It consists of two and those are Upper Jaw and the Lower Jaw .

• Upper Jaws are used to measure the Inner diameter of the given specimen where as Lower jaws are used to measure the outer diameter of the given specimen.

• It consists of two scale and the other is the Vernier Scale. Both these scales are measured in Inches as well as in millimeters.

• The locking pin is used to tighten the jaws at the given measurement


HOW CAN YOU CHECK ANY MEASUREMENT-

• In order to calculate the dimensions, the given specimen is to be placed between the two jaws . One is a fixed jaw and the other is a movable jaw.

• The object is to be placed in between the two jaws and is fixed by means of locking pin.


FORMULA OF VERNIER CALIPER:

Measurement = Main Scale Reading + ( vernier scale reading* Least Count )

वर्नियर कैलिपर, एक मापने वाला उपकरण जिसका उपयोग रैखिक आयामों के मापन के लिए किया जाता है। इसका उपयोग मापने वाले जबड़ों की सहायता से गोल वस्तुओं के व्यास को मापने के लिए भी किया जाता है।

वर्नियर कैलिपर के लाभ –


• कई लंबाई में उपलब्ध


• बैटरी की आवश्यकता नहीं


• डायल या डिजिटल कैलिपर्स की तुलना में कम चलने वाले पुर्जे




वर्नियर कैलिपर के नुकसान-


• डायल और डिजिटल की तरह सटीक नहीं


• वर्नियर पढ़ना डायल या डिजिटल पढ़ने जितना आसान नहीं है


आमतौर पर केवल इंच या मीट्रिक में उपलब्ध (दोनों समान पैमाने पर नहीं)




वर्नियर कैलिपर का कार्य सिद्धांत:


वर्नियर कैलिपर एक सटीक माप उपकरण है जिसका उपयोग दिए गए नमूने की लंबाई, गहराई, व्यास को मापने के लिए किया जाता है।


वर्नियर कैलिपर की विस्तृत व्याख्या इस प्रकार है:


• कैलीपर्स जबड़े के अलावा कुछ भी नहीं हैं जो दिए गए घटक को ठीक करने के लिए उपयोग किए जाते हैं।


• इसमें दो होते हैं और वे हैं ऊपरी जबड़ा और निचला जबड़ा।


• दिए गए नमूने के भीतरी व्यास को मापने के लिए ऊपरी जबड़े का उपयोग किया जाता है जबकि निचले जबड़े का उपयोग दिए गए नमूने के बाहरी व्यास को मापने के लिए किया जाता है।


• इसमें दो पैमाने होते हैं और दूसरा वर्नियर स्केल होता है। इन दोनों पैमानों को इंच के साथ-साथ मिलीमीटर में भी मापा जाता है।


• दिए गए माप पर जबड़ों को कसने के लिए लॉकिंग पिन का उपयोग किया जाता है




आप किसी भी माप की जांच कैसे कर सकते हैं-


• विमाओं की गणना करने के लिए दिए गए नमूने को दो जबड़ों के बीच रखना है। एक स्थिर जबड़ा है और दूसरा चल जबड़ा है।


• वस्तु को दो जबड़ों के बीच में रखा जाना है और लॉकिंग पिन के माध्यम से तय किया गया है।




वर्नियर कैलिपर का सूत्र:


मापन = मुख्य स्केल रीडिंग + (वर्नियर स्केल रीडिंग* कम से कम गणना)
